Bangkok, Thailand.
My brother Jean Charles Skarbowsky
has shared some time with me about his thoughts on life and his future
in Muay Thai boxing.
Who
was your best fight?
One of my best fight was with Ole Baguio Laursen. I was so happy with
that fight. Never in my career have I used so much techniques. My fight
VDO collection, I usually never share, but this one, I show everybody,
because I am so proud of this fight.
Unfortunately,
the judges thought you DRAW for the 3rounds, and you lost the extra round.
Who was your toughest opponent?
They were
all very tough; I had no easy fight from the beginning to the end. The
point is, that, even if I knocked him out in one minute, it’s the
stress before the fight. It makes you tired. They were all equally tough.
Did
any one stand out as memorably tough?
I can tell you who were the best I’ve fought. They were all very
tough. It’s not easy to stand in front of the man who wants to win
against you in Muay Thai boxing. You can hurt yourself even if the man
he blocks your kick. That’s what happened to me. I kick the man,
and he blocked, and I nearly broke my leg. Even if you win in 2minutes,
it’s a question of 2 or 3 kicks. And the best I've fought: first
Robert Keanorasing, Orono PorMuangUbon, Kaoponglek, BigBen. BigBen I would
say is the strongest I’ve ever boxed. He is stronger and bigger,
and I do not box in this weight division usually. I would say these four
are equally the best I’ve fought; the mental, technique, the heart.
I’m not so technique, so my technique is to hurt the man. These
men are legends in the sport. Maybe BigBen is still growing in his career,
but Robert, Orono and Kaoponglek to me are legends.
Would
you consider these men your friends?
Actually, I do not know BigBen, but I would like to know him. But the
other 3 we’re friends. Robert, Kaoponglek invited me to his house
one time, and Orono is always a pleasure to speak with.
When
do you think you physically and mentally were at the top of your Muay
Thai fighting career?
I think I stopped at my best.
Who
are you going to work with when you get back to Paris?
I’m going to open my own Muay Thai gym.
Can
we be partners?
Sure, it will be a pleasure.
Are
you going to do some Mauy Thai promotions?
Yes.
What
do you think about Muay Thai rules in Paris?
That’s a secret.
What
area in Paris?
Not sure.
What
do have to say to newcomers in the fight game?
I say welcome.
What
do you have to say to those who are thinking of stopping their fight career?
I don’t know anyone that has come and talk to me about this.
What
do you miss abut Paris?
My family. Everything else is just details.
What
will you miss about Thailand?
My brothers.
And
your sisters?
I take them with me.
Ok,
hermano, would you like to say anything to your fans on why you decided
to make this major change in your life?
I’ve begun to understand many things. I’ve changed. I don’t
want to fight anymore. I don’t want to get hurt anymore.
But
maybe you’ll take a fight at a wat for fun?
Actually, I have decided to stop my Muay Thai fight career. I feel happy
with myself. I am a happy man.
Thanks Jeannot.
